John Burtka

For over 100 years, four generations of Burtkas have been making wine in this country for the enjoyment of their family and friends. Based on our European roots, it was our goal to create a boutique winery that made a few excellent wines, using old world hand crafting.
Originally incorporated as Veritas Vineyard LLC, we have changed our name to Cherry Creek Cellars.

Whether enjoying our Black Raspberry Dessert Wine Fetter Hahn as an aperitif, or our big red Proprietors Reserve with a juicy porterhouse, you will appreciate our labor intensive efforts!
We invite you to visit our winery and tasting room to linger awhile to visit with the family and taste the fruit of our efforts in this intimate setting.

Our newest vineyard consists of 1000 Pinot Noir 777 clones on a gentle south facing slope. We will be adding additional Vinifera to this vineyard on a yearly basis as we grow.

Our Vineyard - August, 2004
While we wait for our plantings to mature, we are mostly using grapes, juices, and wines from other Michigan vineyards for blending and fermenting. Our oaked wines are aged in French Oak barrels and fermented with premium French yeasts.

Enjoy the quiet, country surroundings of Cherry Creek Cellars

We are members of the Southeastern Michigan Pioneer Wine Trail (www.PioneerWineTrail.com) and proudly promote our fellow pioneers in Agri Tourism. (View a map of the Pioneer Wine Trail HERE.) Although we experience more extreme winters than some other parts of the state, the Southeastern Michigan regions warm summer days and cool nights are ideal for ripening premium wine grapes. It is our modest prediction that this area will surprise many people in the near future with our Big Reds and Fruity Whites.

Our unique artist series labels are designed by Daniel Nagy of DNagy Dezigns and the artwork is provided by renowned Michigan Artist Kim Fujiwara.
